DOC – Conservation Week Identity

The Department of Conservation (DOC) every year has a week dedicated to promoting conservation. Conservation Week provides a range of opportunities for New Zealanders to get interested in, excited about and involved with conservation (even if it’s just in their own backyard). DOC needed a theme, and a campaign for Conservation week. The talented team of Ken Double and John Fisher were engaged to create a campaign for the week and came up with the idea of “Show how much you love New Zealand”. At its core, Conservation Week is about protecting the things that make New Zealand, New Zealand. People involve themselves in Conservation Week activities because they love New Zealand and have pride in its unique environment. Di was asked to bring to life their idea for the identity. The Kawakawa Leaf, is one of the most distinctive New Zealand native plants and is hugely important as a healing herb in Rongoa Maori.
